Prank it forward is one of the campaigns at Dosomething.org. Dosomething.org is an organization dedicated to young people and social change. They believe the world needs good things and good people to
do those things.
The Prank it Forward campaign is a string of positive and motivational pranks that are basically just random acts of kindness. When you think of a prank you may think of rude or hurtful pranks that leave someone upset in the end; that is the opposite of Prank it Forward. People choose to do kinds things for people because they have a chance to do something nice, and they take advantage of that chance.
The Facebook page Prank it FWD, posts videos and articles highlighting people that are pranking it forward. One of the articles on the site is called Random acts of Pasta. An ordinary college student went online to the Olive Garden website and found an Olive Garden pass for seven weeks of unlimited pasta. He knew that there was no way he could eat all that pasta himself so he bought the pass and pasta and shared with homeless people or people in need of a meal. Pranking it forward is like paying it forward. Someone performs a random act of kindness
and maybe one day they will be the recipient of a kind act.
When people do these things it raises hope for humanity and proves that maybe, just maybe not everyone has gone “rotten in the soul.” When we pay it forward we not only make someone else happy, but bring happiness to ourselves because doing something for someone feels good. If more and more people would take this into consideration we could even things out and life wouldn’t be so awful for those who have less. If people who had more shared more maybe the world would be a better place. We can all make a difference. We can all do something to brighten someone else’s day. Visit Dosomething.org and challenge yourself to brighten someone else’s day and maybe someday when you need something kind done for you it just might happen.
