There are many different types of clubs at Layton High School. There are also benefits. Here are some of the reasons you should join.
There is usually scholarships or extra credit offered, or just the enjoyment of helping others and the community. Something like the key club offers that plus more. I talked to the president of the Key Club, Justine Elwood. “You must have a 3.0 GPA and no U’s. We do service projects and go to local elementary schools to drop off care packages.” They sometimes travel to conventions too and are looking for as many people as possible.
Most of the time things like academic clubs or sports look really good on college applications. If you are really good at it there is a chance that you can get a scholarship.
Those aren’t the only types of clubs. There are also useful, social and fun ones like the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America.) They prepare you for careers and business. It is also a way to meet new people and make friends. It is organized in local, state and national levels. They have conferences and seminars that foster the development of leadership and business skills. This is just some of the benefits. For more information, ask the office.
